Ashlee deRooy

NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner

Ashlee is a Certified Behaviour Analyst (CBA) and NDIS registered Behaviour Support Practitioner based in the Northern Rivers, NSW. Face-to-face she covers inland rural locations like Kyogle, Casino and Lismore.  She also works via telehealth for some participants.

Ashlee has worked within the disability and education sectors for 13 years. Early in her career she worked in adult disability support roles and then as a behaviour therapist with children with autism, whilst studying her bachelor of psychology.  Ashlee went on to work as a program supervisor and clinical director in autism intervention, and an “Behavioural Therapist” course training facilitator with the ABIA (now Autism Pathways).  In 2019 she graduated with a masters in applied behaviour analysis and moved into work as a behaviour consultant with the Victorian Department of Education and Training, supporting teachers to understand and improve behaviour.

She now works with all ages in behaviour support but has specialised experience in autism spectrum disorders, paediatrics, adults with intellectual disability,  supervision and training. Outside of NRBC, she is a principle director of Bloom Behaviour Consulting, which specialises in early behavioural intervention, and social groups within the local community.

Out of work she balances her three young children and an off-grid rural lifestyle (complete with a pet pig, chickens, ducks and other fun animals). In her limited spare time she loves to sew, play at being an artist, travel and get outside and enjoy the natural beauty of the world.
