Mariah is a registered Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner with the NDIS and currently provides telehealth services to select participants, when the need warrants and local possibilities have first been exhausted.
Mariah is a passionate practitioner who has been working in the out-of-home-care and disability sectors for the past ten years. Mariah started her journey as a youth and disability support worker prior to transitioning to management roles in out-of-home care. Mariah then honed her true passion in the behaviour support space, completing a Graduate Certificate in Family Studies, Graduate Certificate in Bioethics and a Masters of Education (specialising in Applied Behaviour Analysis).
Mariah is an experienced leader and supervisor with a keen passion for supporting children and adolescent participants, and navigating the often fraught intersection between OOHC and NDIS behavioural supports. Mariah takes a systems approach to behaviour support, with a keen focus on the rights of the young person, and the interconnected relationship between the young person and their community, cultural, social and family connections.
Outside of NRBC Mariah provides supervision to emerging behaviour support practitioners and consultancy around the completion of quality Behaviour Support Plans and the like. Outside of work she can be found hiking her local area, spending time with her family, cooking up a storm or knitting in front of the telly.
